Being Ourselves


With the ever expanding trend of internet culture that keeps reshaping the generation, the drive for originality seems to fade from the minds of our people. Our youths seem to have an affinity to copy what each other deem relevant to the current times. I am not a contrarian, but I do personally believe that people should try to paint their own canvas. There is no wrong in trying to fit in with the society or follow trends, but the excessive need for commonality our youths seem to possess starts to negatively impact the way young people see themselves online. As this phenomenon continues, the only outcome is a homogeneous society that can easily be manipulated and controlled.


Ashamed to feel shame?


The concept of morality is slowly being dissolved into the matter of the past. We have come to a point where basic decency is in scarcity. The vocal and influential are injecting their thoughts into the media where the young and impressionable are abundant. They have successfully alienated the concept of shame. Is it modernisation or societal degeneration?
